Hands on Plastics^TM (HOP^TM) science education investigation kits contain everything you need to design and implement a thorough and engaging investigation into the chemistry and characteristics of plastics. The original HOP science curriculum kit was developed by the National Middle Level Science Teachers Association (NMLSTA), produced by the Plastics Division of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and distributed to more than 30,000 teachers nationwide.

We have improved on this popular science education resource! We've incorporated new technology, expanded the scope of the classroom activities and created links to the latest National Science Education Standards. Learning activities are inquiry-based. HOP^TM is available for classrooms that use Bunsen burners, and HOP2^TM is for those classrooms that do NOT use this science education equipment. HOP Jr.^TM offers plastics science education activities and resources for elementary school teachers.

  The Journey Inside: The Computer

The Journey Inside^SM is a collection of 35 interactive, online lessons for students to learn about technology, computers, and society. Many of the lessons utilize interactive, media-rich Flash* activities, virtual field trips, and videos demonstrating the ideas discussed to guide students to an increased understanding of the world of technology. Students, teachers, and anyone interested can work on the lessons and activities at their own pace to complete any or all of the six sections: Introduction to Computers, Circuits and Switches, Digital Information, Microprocessors, The Internet, and Technology and Society. Detailed instructional strategies written for the teacher extend the lessons and key concepts in ‘the classroom.

There is no need to register. The curriculum is available for free, from any computer that is connected to the Internet. Students can work on the lessons from the classroom, during free moments, or even from home.

Water Education Posters

Water-resources topics of all completed posters are drawn in a cartoon format by the same cartoonist. Posters are available in color or black and white. The back sides of the color poster JPEG files contain educational activities: one version for children in grades 3-5 and the other with activities for children in grades 6-8. The black-and-white posters are intended for coloring by children in grades K-5.
