Tutor.com  is an online on demand tutoring company that provides immediate on demand tutoring services to thousand of students each day. They are currently looking for qualified online tutors in the Math, Science, English and Social Studies fields.

 Qualifications:

• Currently reside in either the US or Canada and have a valid Social Security or Social Insurance number
• Eligible to work in either the US or Canada
• Currently enrolled in or have graduated from a US or Canadian College or University degree program
• Strong content knowledge in English, math, science, or social studies, specifically for 4th grade through first year college level
• The ability to explain concepts to young people of a variety of ages within our online environment

 Application:

The Online Application consists of:

• A registration page (contact and background Information)
• A content exam in the subject(s) you wish to tutor
• A writing sample

All accepted applicants will be provided with further preparation and screening:

• Mock session preparation is self paced and accessible online
• Pass a mock session with a mentor
• Review of instructional videos is self-paced and accessible online
• Pass examination on the instructional videos
• Pass criminal and education background checks

The entire application and screening process can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on your availability and how long it takes to process your background checks.

• You will receive training during the probationary period. All training is paid. Tutor.com offers competitive rates. More information on rates are provided once the application has been submitted.
• Once you pass your probationary period, you will be a Tutor.com Certified Tutor!

 Pay:

• Pay is based on the number of hours you schedule and tutor online.
• You will be paid as an independent contractor. This means that taxes are not deducted from your payment. A 1099 is mailed out to you during tax season and it is your responsibility to file the 1099.
• Payments are made out to you by check or electronically every 4th business day of the month.
• You will be paid for all professional development and training sessions, meetings and referrals for other tutors once you are a tutor. Our service also offers various bonuses and incentives throughout the year.
• Tutor.com offers competitive rates. More information on rates will be provided once the application has been submitted.

 Schedule:

• Tutoring services are available seven days a week 24 hours a day Eastern. You schedule your own hours within that time frame. You can tutor from as little as five hours a week to as much as 30 hours a week.

• We have worked with this company since March of 2001 - 7+ years. We give this company a 5 star rating as the best place to work from home.
  
  - Pay - Pay rates at Tutor.com exceed all other companies that we have reviewed.   Depending on the number of hours you schedule, you can supplement a regular income or easily obtain a part time income. Payments are made once a month. We have been paid every month with absolutely no problems.
  
  - Hours - The hours are flexible. You can schedule as little or as many hours that you want to work up to 30. You choose when you want to work. You are not committed to a set schedule.

ChaCha is an online search service that conducts searches to help mobil customers find answers to their questions 24 hours a day 7 days a week. They are currently looking for qualified online search assistants to answer customer questions on various topics. 

Qualifications:

• Must love researching online
• Must be fluent in English
• Excellent writing skills
• Broadband Internet Connection
• 18 years of age or older
• You must have a US mailing address and be able to legally work in the US

 Application:

The Online Application consists of:

• An online application form
• Reviewing training information
• Completing applicable tests

 Pay:

Guides are paid on a per-transaction basis. SMS Guides are paid $0.10 - $0.20 per transaction depending on how much time you can put into it. You can be paid via a debit card through First Internet Bank of Indiana, or you can sign up for direct deposit to be paid once a month if your account reaches $100 or greater.

Guides working for ChaCha are Independent contractors and must fill out a W9 prior to beginning any work.

 Schedule:

• Services are available seven days a week 24 hours a day. You sign on anytime when you have free time to conduct searches. There is no set schedule. You are not committed to specific days, times or hours.

 Our experience:

• We have tested this company for one month and reached the minimum amount required to receive payment via direct deposit ($100.00). We give this company 2 out of 5 stars. Searches are generally easy. Some are more difficult and take more time.
  
  - Pay - Pay rates are 10 - 20 cents per search. Depending on how much time you can dedicate and how quickly you can locate information, your results will vary. The pay is not absolutely great but with minimum effort you can earn enough for extra activities or to pay a small bill or two. We have only received one payment but it was made on time with no problems.
  
  - Hours - The hours are flexible. You can work as many hours that you want to work. You choose when you want to work. You are not committed to a set schedule.
